Here are a few tips to fix that annoying, running toilet that you can’t seem to stop!
First, you want to test the flapper. If the water is going around the flapper and into the bowl, that is your problem. You’ll want to replace that flapper, which you can find a new one at any hardware store!
To install that you will want to shut off the water valve under your toilet and flush the toilet, so it will drain most of the water out. You will then unhook the old flapper and from there, it should have easy-going instructions on the package that the flapper came in! It’s as simple as that!
If the flapper isn’t your problem, try out the Fill Valve and see if it leaks. To look for that leak, you will want to flush the toilet, lift the float arm when the tank is filling, and see if the water stops. If it’s still leaking water, you know that is the issue!
To fix this problem, you will want to turn off the water supply, flush the toilet to empty all the water, and soak up the leftover water in the tank. That is when you unscrew the fill valve and replace it with a new one.
