How To Maintain Your Septic System

Have a Regular Inspection:

The frequency of maintenance depends on the type of system you have. This can range from 3 month inspections to 3 years inspections. Call for your regular inspection and ask how often you need to schedule inspections. This will lengthen the life of your septic system and SAVE YOU MONEY!

Pump Your Septic Tank Every 3-5 Years

When needing to know how often to pump your septic tank, this all depends on the amount of water used in your household. If you have a large family, the likeliness of you needing to pump your septic tank is more often. If it’s just you and one other, you will not have to pump very often and can probably make it to the 5 year mark!

Keep Septic Tank Lids Easily Accessible
Have “risers” installed to make septic tank pumpkin and monitoring visits easier and less time-consuming. This will help cause less of a mess and disruption in your yard!

Grass is the best cover for your septic tank and drain field. Other plants with very shallow root systems can also be used!

Do NOT Flush Anything Except Toilet Paper

Even products labeled as “flushable” may NOT be good for your sewage system!
