One of the greatest feelings is knowing you can fix something yourself and not have to pay for it! We want to help you save as much money and time that you can.
Here are a few tips to fix that annoying, running toilet that you can’t seem to stop!
First, you want to test the flapper. If the water is going around the flapper and into the bowl, that is your problem. You’ll want to replace that flapper, which you can find a new one at any hardware store!
To install that you will want to shut off the water valve under your toilet and flush the toilet, so it will drain most of the water out. You will then unhook the old flapper and from there, it should have easy going instructions on the package that the flapper came in! It’s as simple as that!
If the flapper isn’t your problem, try out the Fill Valve and see if it has a leak. To look for that leak, you will want to flush the toilet, lift on the float arm when the tank is filling and see if the water stops. If it’s still leaking water, you know that is the issue!
To fix this problem, you will want to turn off the water supply, flush the toilet to empty out all the water, and soak up the left-over water in the tank. That is when you unscrew the fill valve and replace it with the new one.
