Septic systems handle everything your home sends down the drain, day after day. Over time, waste builds up in the tank, and the flow through the system can start to slow, even if everything inside the house still seems normal.

Septic system maintenance keeps that buildup under control and keeps the system working the way it should. At Reed’s Plumbing, Excavating, Septic, Heating & Air, maintenance includes checking tank levels, inspecting key components, and making sure wastewater is moving through the system properly. Catching these issues early helps prevent backups, protect your drain field, and avoid costly repairs.

If it has been a while since your system was last serviced, now is the time to have it serviced. Contact Reed’s Plumbing, Excavating, Septic, Heating & Air to schedule septic system maintenance and keep your system running reliably.

Septic System Maintenance Services

Maintenance is about more than just checking a box. It is a way to monitor how your system handles daily use and to step in before problems develop. Reed’s Plumbing, Excavating, Septic, Heating & Air approaches maintenance with that in mind.

Service may include inspecting the tank, checking connections, evaluating flow, and identifying early signs of wear or buildup. If something looks off, it can be addressed before it turns into a larger issue that requires septic repair. In some cases, tank pumping is part of maintaining proper system balance and preventing overload.

Because septic systems are tied to both plumbing and the ground around them, having a team that understands excavation also matters. If anything below the surface needs attention, it can be handled without bringing in additional contractors.

Maintenance vs. Repair

Maintenance focuses on keeping the system running smoothly before problems show up. Repair comes into play when something has already gone wrong. Staying consistent with maintenance helps reduce the frequency of repairs and makes the system more predictable.

When Maintenance Reveals Bigger Issues

Sometimes maintenance uncovers problems that have been building for a while. If that happens, you will get a clear explanation of what is going on and the next steps that make sense. That could involve a targeted repair or, in more serious cases, planning for a future septic installation.

Don’t wait for small issues to turn into costly repairs. Call Reed’s today for fast, dependable service.

What to Expect During Septic System Maintenance:

Maintenance visits are straightforward, but there is still a clear process to ensure nothing gets missed.

  1. Initial system check: The system is reviewed to assess how it is currently handling daily use and to spot anything that stands out.
  2. Tank and flow evaluation: Key components are checked to ensure wastewater is moving through the system as it should.
  3. Early issue identification: Small concerns such as buildup, wear, or restricted flow are noted before they become larger problems.
  4. Clear feedback: You get a simple explanation of the system’s condition and anything that may need attention now or later.

The goal is to keep everything running without surprises and give you a clear picture of where your system stands.

If you’re looking for an HVAC company you can actually trust, I cannot recommend John and the team at Reeds Plumbing & HVAC enough!

They are incredibly responsive, honest, professional, and genuinely care about their customers. They have saved me a significant amount of money by being proactive and helping me avoid bigger, more expensive problems down the road. Their customer service is truly excellent, and I never feel like I’m being talked into something I don’t need.

I recently signed up for their monthly maintenance program, and honestly, it is worth its weight in gold. The peace of mind alone is worth it, especially knowing that my HVAC system is being regularly checked and maintained instead of waiting until something inevitably goes wrong.

John has been fantastic to work with, and I’m so grateful to have found a company that is reliable, responsive, and actually stands behind the service they provide. **Five stars, without hesitation!** ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Will the air conditioner service technician did a great job today, Wednesday, August 26, 2026. He was dispatched by John the inbound call center rep. and arrived at 8:20 a.m. and completed the repair and cleaning of the unit by 9:40 a.m. He replaced the capacitor and cleaned the coils and once running determined that no refrigerant was needed.

We are grateful for the prompt and professional service rendered by Will and John.

Amazing experience!!! Reed’s Plumbing has the process worked out so smoothly! We called at 8:00 am with an emergency, had a bid in hand with explanation from Josh by 9:30 am, and the team of plumbers (Drew and Sam) and excavator (Michael) and cleanup (Michael and Cash) were on the job by noon and finished the entire project before 6pm. The whole crew was great! Very professional and their obvious expertise made us feel at ease. They worked through the heat with a great attitude.
We thanked our neighbors for recommending Reed’s Plumbing and we will do the same!
