Does Your Home Have A Leak That You Cannot See?

It is possible to have a leak that you can’t see at all. Catching this will save you money and prevent a disaster! Here are 3 things you can do to see if you leak:

Water Meter
Shut off all the faucets, and make sure nothing is running. Once that is done, watch the water meter to see if it changes. If it does, you might have a fast-moving leak. If you don’t see a change right away, check back in 2 hours. If it has changed after 2 hours, you might have a slower leak.

Your Bill
If you have noticed a rise in your bill but have not had any change in your water usage, you might leak. Your water bill should remain around the same price every month.

Food Coloring
Add a few drops of food coloring to your toilet tank and wait 10 minutes. If the color ends up in your toilet bowl, then you have a leak allowing water to flow from the tank to your drain without flushing.
